Character transfer between accounts? |
Hi mon, want to open a second account and transfer a few characters there. But I dont understand the part to open account with the same name?
Also I see on battle net I have the option to merge accounts. Is that needed for having two accounts?
Can you give me a quick step by step what to do to open a another account to which I can transfer characters too?

If I understand your post correctly, youre hoping to have a single Battle.net account with two or more WoW accounts attached to it. That certainly is possible (and one of the features of a Battle.net account), but please bear in mind that opening a WoW account means buying a copy of the game and the expansions again.
There are a couple of ways to do this; you can either buy a copy of WoW at a shop and then add the key that comes with it, or you can buy it digitally through Battle.net/our online store. Heres a general step by step guide:
- Log in to http://eu.battle.net/, then go to the page https://eu.battle.net/account/management/add-game.html
- Choose to either enter your key (if you bought WoW from a shop), or to buy it digitally.
- Follow the on screen instructions to add/purchase your new copy of WoW.
Note: if you purchase WoW digitally, please note that youll now need to wait up to around 72 hours before continuing. This is an unfortunate but necessary delay in which the transaction is given time to complete. - When the second account has been completed added you can add the expansions. Go to https://eu.battle.net/account/management/ and choose the new account in the list. It will be called something like WOW2 (given that its the second copy).
- Once there, you should see an option to upgrade to Burning Crusade/Wrath of the Lich King/Cataclysm on the right hand side. Again, you can do so by entering a key from a store bought copy, or by purchasing it digitally.
Note: As before, each digital upgrade will delay the process by up to 72 hours. - Finally, once all of the necessary expansions have been added, you can use the character transfer service to move your characters. You can find the character services in Battle.net by selecting the account you wish to transfer from.
