Guild member number stuck

....Meaning that when members are removed the figure stays at 1000 and that no new members can be added to the guild.

I heard that it affects all guilds with over 500 members and that there is no plan to fix this, is that right? Why would a bug not be fixed? It affects guilds with 1000 or more members, not 500. And it wont be fixed because its intentional - 1000 members is the cap, the only exception is guilds that had more than 1000 members when the cap was introduced, and even they cant invite more unless they drop below 1000.Thanks for that reply, where did you find that out?

The thing is though, that the particular guild I am talking about was able to invite players up until yesterday (on and off because the guild cap was met), so it must have dropped below 1000 after the introduction of the cap for that to happen.Ok further information on this.

Apparently, guilds with over 500 members are unable to reduce their numbers by removal of players. Im not 100% but I think this only affects kicking from guild and not /gquit.

For example, yesterday, a large number of players were removed from the guild. Today, those members are back in the guild.

An officer spoke to a GM who said that the issue is a reported one but there are no plans to fix it. Why is this?
